So we have a history of communism. Several decades of communism, we had a decade of dictatorship. Individual rights have always been always marginalized compared to collective rights and interests.

So privacy was actually something that was perceived to belong only to those who have something to hide. And for us, one of the major obstacles was to explain to the general public that privacy is the right of each of us and that if we want to maintain privacy doesn’t mean that we’re bad citizens.
